Life Happened (My First Crush)

Image by Mescopaul's Blog How we see life differently at every stage in life. What we call love back then turned out to be nothing than an attraction or just as many call it a crush. That’s the exact word, “crush.” You admire them from afar and when they come close you “take to your heels” – not literally though. And so I had a crush back then when I was in SS2. She was my height, fair and very lively. No need to tell you, you can guess she was a drop dead beauty. If you’ve never been in “love”, don’t judge me right now. At that time I was in love, at least “at that time.” We moved into the area in some good parts of Lagos, Nigeria. She lived at the house opposite mine. The fence in my compound wasn’t that high, so I always stood on the front pavement or by the side of the house and stare at each other for some time saying nothing and then we just run off when the butterflies starts dancing in our stomach. No doubt, she had a crush on me too. We were two novices in

Back To The Origin: Why Choose Abraham and Not A Man From Gerar?

Image by Mescopaul's Blog &  Christian Forums Why did God choose Abraham to be the father of his people Israel? Certainly Abraham was not even righteous. He was known to be an idol worshiper in the Ur of the Chaldeans. In his wandering after God called him, he still had flaws in his life, bothering on lying, polygamy etc. Yet God did not unchoose him. Abraham’s life was not near a picture of perfection, yet God chose him, why? The only remarkable thing we see in Abraham’s life is his obedience and BELIEVE in God. This was what made him righteous – his believe, not his works. He had scores of unrighteous works, but he believed in God and was ready to obey God blindly. At that time, there were even persons and nations which knew God better than Abraham. Gerar was a righteous nation, and Abimelech was a righteous king; because he even queried God as to why God would destroy a righteous nation for nothing (Genesis 20:4) For him, he confessed tha

Back To The Origin: Two Systems And Their Commodities

Image by Mescopaul's Blog &  Arthive Two different personalities signifying two different people emerged from Adam and Eve. The first is the lineage of Cain. The second is that of Abel. Cain signified evil, hatred, anger, sin and a godless system. Abel signified purity, love for God, gentle and righteous, and a system that pledges allegiance to God. Once, Cain (the evil system) rose up against the good, and killed Abel, the righteous one. Abel was innocent, committed no crime, yet he died a cruel death. Seth replaced Abel, and sustained the righteous system that depended on God. Cain went out of the presence of God and we see how he began civilization and inventions without the God input. Cain is a system that does not answer to God. It is the world system. A Godless Civilization The following characterized the lineage of Cain. 1. The building of a city – Civilization. 2. Polygamy. 3. Tenth construction and large scale farming – herdsmen.

Back To The Origin: The Tree of The Soul-consciousness

Image by Mescopaul's Blog - The Tree of the Soul-consciousness Many call it the tree of death, the Bible calls it the tree of knowledge of good and evil. In my own opinion, the tree or it's fruit wasn't the problem, that was not what made man or gave man the sin nature. Man got the sin nature not because they ate of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, but because they OBEYED Satan. Who you obey becomes your Lord, and the servant does not have a life of his own; he lives out the life of his master. So man got the nature of sin, not because he ate of a tree, but because he obeyed the devil, and so he became the servant of the devil in accordance to the spiritual law of 'becoming by obedience.' Soul-consciousness We (man) would still have eaten from the tree of knowledge of good and evil (which I call the tree of the human/soul life). Being conscious of yourself or your soul is not the problem, God intended us to be, he had plans for that, Adam was no

The Power Of Choice: A Blessing Or A Curse?

Image by  Thrive Global  - The Power of Choice; A Blessing or a Curse? Choice in itself is both a gift and a death sentence. We are given a will of our own. To know and do what we want to do, how we want to do it and when we want to do it. Our choices are not forced on us, we make them by our own sovereignty . Animals are not so lucky. They may have a will, but they don't have that freedom to do what they want, when they want and how they want. Plants are the "unluckiest" of all. They certainly have no will of their own and no choice of their own. Several factors determine their existence and death. A plant or rather a seed sown in a good soil with all conditions in place will invariably grow to become a tree, bear fruits and keep reproducing for as long as the conditions for its growth are still in place. It has no choice to DECIDE to stop bearing fruits, or to bear a different fruit or to change its location. It is a living thing, yet limited in it's pote

Amazing Android Notification Reader App

Image by Hackernoon.com What do you think of having every single notification on your phone read out to you rather than having to pick up your phone and go through them one after the other? Well, I was doing the dishes while boiling water to make some pap for my breakfast. I was really behind time and wasn’t ready to take the unnecessary shouts from my boss. My client also was also locked on a chat with me as to how we need to plan for me to deliver the brand new Level U Samsung Earphones. I had to keep my phone at arm’s length as I strained my ears to hear the tick sound of a new message from my client, while attending to the house chores. With my soiled hands, wet from the dishes I was washing it was impossible to pick up my phone to read the last message that just popped in. A hand rag wasn’t close by and things were getting out of hands. I thought about an app or widget or anything that would automatically read out my notifications for me and save me stress of havin
